Memory effect evaluation

Molybdenum is an element for which platform atomisation does not offer an advantage. Just the opposite is the case sensitivity is very poor and memory effects are very strong. The Zeeman detection limit for wall atomisation in a pyrocoated graphite tube using 100 til of reference solution is 0.03 xl (for both peak height and peak area evaluation) [709]. [Pg.250]

The secondary DQIs are not immediately obvious to the data user not all of them are applied for data quality evaluation. Nevertheless, they are among the fundamental concepts of analytical chemistry, have a great effect on results of qualitative and quantitative analysis, and affect the outcome of the primary DQIs. The meaning and importance of the secondary DQIs are discussed in Chapter 4, which details laboratory analysis and quality control. The secondary DQIs, which include sensitivity, recovery, memory effects, method detection limit, limit of quantitation, repeatability, and reproducibility, are defined as follows ... [Pg.46]

The contributions of radical ions DH + and neutral radicals D to the product polarizations were also separated by variable-field stationary CIDNP [94a], time-resolved CIDNP, and SNP [94b]. From an evaluation of the CIDNP memory effect, the rate of in-cage proton transfer from the radical cation of triethylamine to the radical anion of trans-stilbene was estimated to be 3 x 107s-1 [94F],... [Pg.125]

The lifetime of a THFA tube was evaluated by consecutive 40 jiL injections of a 40 /tg/L copper solution in n-heptane, using instrumental conditions already defined in Ref. [14]. Figure 10 shows a slight increase in peak area absorbance, possibly due to some memory effect. The lifetime can be considered to last around 900-1000 firings. The visual inspection of TOTA components shows limited corrosion of the ends of the filter. However, the used fiber can be removed and replaced by a new one. [Pg.67]

Macroscopically, the shape memory effect can be described and evaluated using a cyclic tensile deformation experiment under a temperature programming, represented as a three-dimensional (3-D) plot of strain versus temperature and force as depicted in Figure 4.2. The sample is deformed to a certain level of strain at T > and then can be fixed during cooling,... [Pg.128]

The carryover test checks for residual memory effects. Basically, it measures the residual peak area of the target compound in the chromatogram of a blank sample injected immediately after injection of a concentrated solution of the compound (e.g., 1000 mg/L). The carryover effect is evaluated as the percentage of the residual peak area in the blank chromatogram with respect to the peak area of the analyte after the injection of the concentrated solution. Limits of 0.1-0.2% could be considered as acceptable. [Pg.2076]

Aggarwal et al. recently implemented methods for the determination of isotope ratios and concentrations of different elements in biological specimens. Thermally stable and volatile chelates were identified for a number of trace elements Ni [43], Cr [45], Pt [46], Cu [33], Se [47], Co [48], Cd [49], Pb [44], Hg [50], and Te [51]. Memory effect was evaluated and found to be insignificant. Precision and accuracy in the measurement of isotope ratios was evaluated. Finally, the isotope dilution GC-MS method was validated by analyzing NIST reference materials (e.g., urine, semm), by comparing the results with ETAAS and by using the standard addition approach. [Pg.157]

A rigorous approach to evaluate the memory effect is the sequential analyses of natural sample, enriched isotope (internal standard or tracer), and again the natural sample. As shown in Fig. 1, no measurable memory effect was observed for Hg [50], a small memory effect was seen for Cd... [Pg.158]

FIG. 2. Evaluation of cross-contamination in consecutive analyses of synthetic mixtures of Cd(FDEDTC)2 with altered isotopic composition. The change in isotope ratio by a factor of 8 results in a significant memory effect . (From Ref. 49.)... [Pg.159]

These multiblock terpolymers are laboratory products. They were prepared in order to evaluate the influence of the incorporation of a third block into the macromolecule on the copolymer phase structure. An attempt was made to change the morphology (from microphase to nanophase) in the Hytrel -type elastomers thereby, the interphase could be expanded. The elastomers having a nanophase structure are polymers with a better shape memory than those with coarse morphology. By the incorporation of a third block, the properties of multiblock polymers can be modified so that different shape memory effects can be achieved (for shape memory effects, see also Chapter 18). [Pg.118]

The solid-state ECD tested exhibit good electrochemical stability, showed memory effect and may therefore be of interest for application in smart windows . The evaluation of devices based on di-ureasils confirmed that hybrid electrolytes provide adequate optical density, good stability and enhanced optical memory. Therefore PEs based on di-ureasil composites incorporating lithium guest salts represent an attractive alternative to liquid electrolytes in ECDs. ... [Pg.208]
